Privacy Policy
1. What this covers
This policy explains what we collect about people who use our site and subscription, and how we handle the public records that appear in our lead feed.
2. Information about our users
- Account: your email address and a password (stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider).
- Subscription: the county and role you hold, and billing status. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Referral: if you arrive through a partner link, a short-lived cookie remembers the partner tag for up to 30 days so the seat can be attributed.
- Calculator use: when you change numbers in a free calculator, we record the calculator and the numbers you entered, together with a random ID stored in your browser. We do not record your name, email, address or IP address with them, and we do not record visits where you change nothing. We use these records to improve the tools and keep a history of how they are used. Your browser also keeps your numbers locally so they are still there when you come back; you can clear them from the calculators page. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not record your calculator use.
- Vault use: when a signed-in member copies or opens a research prompt in the Vault, we record which prompt it was and the blanks they filled in (places, time periods and numbers), together with their account. We use this to see which prompts are useful and to keep a history of how the service is used.
- Technical: standard server logs such as IP address and browser type, used for security and troubleshooting.
3. Public records in the lead feed
The feed is compiled from records that government bodies publish, such as tax claim lists. These records can include an owner's name and a property address. We keep only what the source publishes, link to the source, and do not add private information such as non-public phone numbers, emails or financial data. Subscribers see these records only for the county they hold.
If you appear in a record and want it reviewed, corrected or removed from our feed, contact us with the property or parcel and we will review it promptly. Removal from our feed does not change the original public record.
4. How we use information
- to provide the service, enforce seat limits and process payments;
- to secure the platform and prevent abuse;
- to contact you about your account, billing or service changes.
We do not sell personal information about our users.
5. Service providers
We share only what is needed with providers that run the service: our database and authentication host, our payment processor, and our hosting providers. They process data on our behalf under their own security commitments.
6. Your choices
You can ask to access, correct or delete your account information, or to cancel your subscription, at any time. We keep billing records as long as the law requires.
7. Security and retention
Access to data is restricted by database-level rules and encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure. We keep account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward.
8. Changes
We will post any update on this page with a new date.
